Ways to Leave a Gift in Your Will

If you are planning to write your will or if you already have one, you may want to consider these three common ways to make a gift in your will (charitable bequest):

Percentage of Your Estate:

“I give to CNEWA (Catholic Near East Welfare Association) Canada, 1247 Kilborn Place, Ottawa, Ontario K1H 6K9, _________% percent of my estate to be used where the need is the greatest.”

Specific Dollar Amount:

“I give to CNEWA (Catholic Near East Welfare Association) Canada, 1247 Kilborn Place, Ottawa, Ontario K1H 6K9, the sum of $_________ to be used where the need is the greatest.”

Residue of Your Estate:

“I give to CNEWA (Catholic Near East Welfare Association) Canada, 1247 Kilborn Place, Ottawa, Ontario K1H 6K9, all the residue of my estate, including, without limitation, real and personal property.”

Please consult a professional advisor (e.g. financial planner, lawyer, accountant) for more information on giving a gift in your will to CNEWA Canada. A professional will be able to tell you more details, such as tax benefits.
