Save Iraqi Christians

Iraqi Christians are holding on. In 2003, there were about one million in Iraq. Today, an estimated 300,000 Christians remain in the country.
Many thousands have sought refuge in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. The refugees’ situation is precarious. Though they have escaped war, they live under tight legal restrictions. Adults cannot work. Families struggle to find food, housing and health care.
Inside and outside of Iraq, Catholic priests and religious sisters are standing with Iraqi Christians and ministering to their urgent needs.
Our priorities are to find Christian refugees shelter, food and access to health care. We enroll children in good Catholic schools. We host weekly gatherings where families can pray together and socialize. We help them with legal matters until them emigrate.

Pope Benedict XVI has called on Catholics to reach out to our beleaguered brothers and sisters in Christ. Now is the time to do more than pray for peace. Help Iraqi Christians in Iraq and the Middle East by making a generous gift to CNEWA.
